Abstract

Background & Objective: Evidence-based practice (EBP) is the integration of the best available research evidence, clinical expertise, and patient values. Despite its importance, incorporating EBPs into routine nursing procedures remains challenging due to resource, time, and organizational constraints. This study aimed to assess nurses' knowledge regarding EBPs and determine its implications for evidence-based nursing practice in tertiary care hospital settings.

Methodology: A descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted among registered nurses across selected tertiary care hospitals in Lahore. A sample size of 196 participants was selected using a purposive sampling technique. Data were collected using an adopted Evidence-Based Practice Questionnaire (EBPQ) on a Likert scale and analyzed using SPSS version 25.

Results: The findings revealed that 28% of nurses had poor knowledge, 42% had average knowledge, and 30% demonstrated good knowledge regarding Evidence-Based Practices.

Conclusion: Most participating nurses demonstrated an average level of understanding regarding EBPs. These findings highlight the need for targeted educational interventions, capacity building, and continuous professional development to support the effective implementation of evidence-based practices in clinical settings.
